I tried both 777 & 755 permission, both won't work

It's talking about the permissions within Coppermine itself. You need to either make some of your public albums open to uploads (album properties) or allow users to have their own albums (groups page).

and where do i have to change these properties ? becoz when i look into "groups"

-> can upload files is enabled
-> can i have a personal gallery is enabled

Users have to make an album before they can upload into it.

Any public albums need permissions set to allow uploads.  Album properties, like Nibbler explained.
