I am trying to upload a picture in order to modify my gallery header and everytime I upload it (I've modified size and file name and what not countless times) I either get an "X" or a broken image. What am I doing wrong? I've searched on this board for a topic that is close to what I am experiencing but couldn't find one...sorry. >:(

Can you post a link to your site?

Learn and live ... In January of 2011, after a botched stent attempt, the doctors told me I needed a multiple bypass surgery or I could die.  I told them I needed new doctors.

here it is: http://www.beautifulleighanne.com/gallery/cpg134/index.php

just so you know, it's not just when I upload new pictures, even the picture files that come with the themes....can anyone help???

Gallery is offline.

However, if I switch to the classic theme, I see the Coppermine image.  This looks like a theme issue, but I can't exactly say since the gallery is offline.
Do not send me a private message unless I ask for one.  Make your post public so everyone can benefit.

if you upload that image I bet it'll work smooth.. at least in the specified path it shows a 404

The problem here is the permissions on the image files. It is giving 403 Forbidden error.

Try changing the permission of images to 755 or 777. Also try uploading the images from a different FTP program.

If that doesn't helps then you will need to ask your webhost for support. This is more a server issue and not the issue of coppermine.

Ok, I made my gallery available offline....the ting I don't understand is that even if it were to be a problem with the themes, why is it that some icons and photos that come with the themes can be viewed without a problem but if I try to upload a picture I get an error message or an "x"?

Abbas Ali

Did you do what was said above (changing the permissions)?

I finally figured it out! My webhosting company comes with something called "Fantastico" which allows you to install anything that is script, including Coppermine, so I don't have to go through the trouble of downloading everything!!

Thanks for the help!!!
