New members registration procedure

I  am new to any photogallery web work.  I have loaded Coppermine v 1.4.9 on to my laptop server to check it out - all seems fine so far, and I hope to have it up on the web this week.

I am not running a forum on the site.

One thing I can't figure, and that is how to automate new member registration.  I would like to have a procedure similar to that used by new members of this forum:  Fill in a registration form, read email, log-in.  I think I could write this, but it must have been done already.  I have checked documentation, read the FAQ, but I can't find a reference.

I am quite prepared to be told I am thick - but please let me have a link that points me in the right direction - or if it really is a case of RTFM, let me have a paragraph reference.

You need to enable registrations in config. It is off by default so that people don't register before you are ready for them.
