CPG 1.6 upgrade method

It appears that the delivery method for Coppermine has changed?
Does the ZIP file contain all the files necessary to run Coppermine?
I used to download and push the files to the server then run update.
Can you clarify this?

Yes, you can still use that same method with the zip file for the latest version.

But there is an easier method using the installer stub that does most of the work for you.

Please be aware that your theme (eyeball) will be overwritten.

I really like Eyeball.
Will it keep the header and footer I have?

If you made no changes to the files in <yourgallery>/themes/eyeball, then it should remain the same. If you use the installer stub method to upgrade your site, and you had made changes to files in the eyeball theme, you will likely lose those changes. Best to back up your eyeball theme.

Thank you, I was hoping that was the case.
I have made no changes to any files in the themes or eyeball directory,
only customizing the header and footer.
