@eolica: good to hear from you; I'm happy you're doing the italian translation.

@all: anybody currently working on a cpg1.3.0 translation who has not been listed in the very first posting on this thread, please post what language you're currently working on. All who would like to do a translation, even if there's an "original" translator: you're welcome to post your translation - please assign "your" language to yourself by replying to this thread. Thanks.

I need language for Chinese  GB who can offer it
thanks a lot

Casper

It is already done.  Look at the first post in this thread for a link.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

Casper, you are wrong. There's a difference between Chinese_Big5 and Chinese_GB.

@zqwm: not done yet.

empty file for me, please re-upload (maybe as zip or txt) - expected behaviour, as you can't download a php file.

Upps.. Ok I'll do that. But I just noticed that the FAQ part's translation is missing. I'll forward the link to zip after I comletted that as well

I have made some fine-tuning in the translation:

Hope it's final

Peter,

thanks for the submission, I've added it both to the cvs and the download section.

P.S. Please don't touch the stuff at the top of the language file (Starting with $Id) - this bit is being used by the CVS and will be replaced automatically. You won't have to send an utf-8 version along - I create them for the package from fresh every time the language file changes.

Thanks Gaugau! I chacked both. In CVS you replaced õ and û (o and u with the accent: ")  with o and u. Why? They display correct on my PC.

I guess you use the utf-8 version then. Let me explain: one very important bit in your translation is charset (in your case
Quote$lang_charset = 'iso-8859-2';
). It's important to have the proper charset there, because I create the utf-8 version of the language file using the tool iconv, where I have to specify the source and target charset/encoding format. If the charset is set wrong in the original file, there may be "funny" results in the utf-8 version.
Please double-check and report back.

What do you meen under
Quoteyou use
? I don't understand. I have never useed utf-8, all my programs use 'iso-8859-2', and the characters display correct. Visit my homepage: http://album.carambola.hu/. Does it have problem with the related characters?

Hi friends,
I am having problems with my spanish character set, I have tried using the default language and the utf-8, but whenever a character has an accent (tilde for eg. á ) it is not shown properly. I have seen the spanish working well on your demo page.
I am using cgp1.3.0beta4
What could be going wrong?
Thanks Roshlin

Roshlin

Hi Friends,
I had the above problem for a week, but now the spanish caracters work well.
I did not make any changes so I don't know what could have caused the problem or solved it.
For now it works, so everything fine.  :)
 Thanks
Roshlin

If you experience problems with characters not being displayed correctly, make sure you have the correct browser settings - if you disabled language encoding auto-select in your browser or if the charset doesn't exist on your client there will of course be display problems. When reporting such problems, please make sure to tell us what browser you use and what encoding settings you have.

Webfrater has submit Croation, Wormie has submit danish. Both language files are in the cvs, but haven't been added to the download section yet, because problems with http://www.iconv.com not being accessible keep me from creating utf-8 versions. If you need the files for testing, check out the devel branch of the cvs.

Hi, I have converted Monkeys BIG5 translation to GB-UTF-8 but don't know where to post it, so it's here
http://yellowriverarts.com/noah/chinese_gb.zip

Being new to Cpg, I had a lot trouble with IE forgetting the coding setting on various pages for the non-unicode GB version (I may not have respected the protocol for language files... :-[), so I'm sticking with my utf-8 version which works fine, and allows users to mix english and chinese in their descriptions etc, and also allows me to include chinese and english wherever I like.  Still under construction but for those who are curious: http://www.yellowriverarts.com/art .

I do have a non unicode gb version if anyone would like it - but I just can't get it to work, and don't have the time.

Hope this helps someone,
Neil

Joachim Müller

hm, not standards-compliant, but it works (and that's all that counts for now). Thanks for your submission. I have added it to the cvs and to the demo page, will have to look into the charset issue once the iconv homepage comes up again.

I'm willing to help making the swedish translation. I will have time to begin doing it after about 3-4 weeks.

I don't want a translator title ... because I'm not that good in languages and that's why I'm only willing to help ;)

question: what is the purpose of language-utf-8.php files?
the contect is exactly the same, except for the first line
